HOW TO GET PUBLISHED

If you've ever dreamed of becoming a published author, this workshop is for you. We’ll cover everything from getting started to getting an agent, from publishing your short pieces to publishing your book, from writing a query letter to writing what the book publishers want. Bring your questions. Come and get ready to be published!

Workshop leader Brian Henry has been a book editor and creative writing teacher for more than 25 years. He has helped many of his students get their first book published and launch their careers as authors.

Special Option: Participants may bring a draft of a query letter you might use to interest an agent or publisher in your book. You don’t need to bring anything, but if you do, 3 copies could be helpful.

Location:  City Grill, 2nd floor (130 Westmorland St.)

REVEILLE!
AT THE FRYE FESTIVAL
April 21, 2010

MonctonWriters once again will host REVEILLE! An open mic evening of laughter and sharing as the general public (and a celeb or two) read those angst-filled words they wrote as children.  You won't want to miss this - last year's event was hilarious.

Rummage through your attics and archives to find essays, poetry, songs, letters, diary entries or stories that you wrote as a child or teen, then come join in with the fun. No experience necessary.

Anyone is welcome to participate. The only rule? What you read must have been written in your youth when we all fumbled with words.

When: April 21, 2010
Where:  Moncton Press Club,
160 Assomption Blvld., Moncton NB
Time:  7:00 pm

The Moncton Chapter of PWAC meets on the Third Wednesday of the month (most often at the Moncton Press Club) for truly exciting business meetings.

Because we love to eat and socialize (and we've discovered this doesn't pair well with business), we also meet on the First Friday at various eatery locations in the Moncton area to swap news and congratulate each other on our outstanding successes and achievements.

Next Business Meeting:
5:30 pm, Mar 17, Moncton Press Club

Next Lunch Social:
11:45 am, Mar 5th  (email for location/details several days before)

Thinking of Joining PWAC?

Potential Members are welcome to join us for lunch once or twice to meet the group and learn more about the organization.  Please confirm attendance by contacting the Chapter President the week of the lunch.
